A 39-year-old man was arrested Monday night and charged with assault in connection with a rollover car crash on a Galveston street.
Six people were injured in the crash, including the man, police said.
Police and firefighters were called about 8:30 p.m. to an accident on the 4700 block of Avenue Q in Galveston.
They found a red Chevy Cruz and a black Chevy Silverado flipped over in a front yard, according to police.
Three adults and two children, aged 8 and 9, were removed from the Chevy Cruz. The Silverado driver was alone in that vehicle, police said. All six people were taken to the University of Texas Medical Branch. They were all expected to survive, police said.
Witness told police at the scene that the Silverado was speeding when it ran a stop sign and hit the Cruz.
Officers spoke to the driver of the Silverado and determined he was intoxicated, according to police.
