St. Louis, MO : A car crash in Dallas on Thursday, October, 19th 2017
Mavericks guard Devin Harris' brother died from injuries sustained in a car crash in Dallas Thursday morning.
According to police, via the Dallas Morning News , Bruce Harris, 38, was with a friend, 36, in his disabled vehicle in the northbound lane of Central Expressway in Dallas when their car was struck by a 23-year-old driver at 1:40 a.m.
The impact caused the disabled vehicle's gas tank to rupture and catch fire.
Bruce Harris was taken to the hospital along with his friend and the driver and passenger of the other vehicle. Bruce Harris passed away from his injuries Thursday afternoon.
Alcohol is not presumed to have been involved in the accident.
Devin Harris played in the Mavericks' loss to the Hawks Wednesday night, but was dismissed from the team's practice Thursday. He had 10 points and two assists in the team's opener.
