Las Vegas, NV : One person died after a two-vehicle crash in the northwest valley on Tuesday, December 8, 2015

One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in the northwest valley, according to Metro Police.

Police were called about 3:45 p.m. to the 4500 block of North Rancho Drive, near North Torrey Pines Drive, where an SUV and another vehicle were involved in a crash, Officer Larry Hadfield said.

One person of unknown age and gender was taken to University Medical Center and later pronounced dead, he said.

It was not immediately clear if anyone else was injured or what caused the crash.

The northbound lanes of Rancho are closed in the area, and police suggest drivers use alternate routes.
