Baker County, FL : Three people dead and six people injured in U.S. 90 near Battle Field on Thursday December 31 2015.

A New Year’s Day head-on collision in Baker County has killed three people in two vehicles and hospitalized six, including five children, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.The collision on U.S. 90 near Battle Field Trail was caused when two teenagers in an eastbound car failed to return to the eastbound lane after passing other traffic just before 2 a.m. The Acura struck a sport utility vehicle carrying a Lake City family of seven that was in the westbound lane.
The impact killed Acura driver Davis Benjamin Schafer, and passenger Jessica Perry, both 17, of Jacksonville.
Levi James Town, 33, the driver of the SUV, was also killed. The three were pronounced dead at the scene.
Passengers in the Ford Expedition, Amber Dawn Town, 31, and minor children Luke Town, Lauren Town, Royal Town, Lucy Town and Levi Town Jr., whose ages were not immediately available, suffered serious injuries. They were transported to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville and UF Health Jacksonville.
