ANDOVER, MA : 16-year-old dies after rollover crash on I-93 on Sunday, 9th June 2019

A 16-year-old boy from Tewksbury is dead after he suffered serious injuries in a rollover crash on Interstate 93 Saturday night, according to the Massachusetts State Police.

State police said the teen was traveling on I-93 north, north of Interstate 495 in Andover, in a 2018 Mitsubishi SUV at the time of the crash.Officials believe at approximately 5 p.m., the 16-year-old lost control of the vehicle, which caused it to travel off the right side of the roadway before rolling over and crashing into a signpost.

The teen, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was initially transported to Lawrence General Hospital before he was transferred to Lahey Hospital in Burlington for treatment of serious injuries.
