MONROE CITY, MO : Monroe City man seriously injured in U.S. 36 crash on Tuesday, 7th April, 2020

A Monroe City man was seriously injured in a Tuesday afternoon crash on U.S. 36.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said that a 1998 Toyota Camry driven by Joseph S. Barnett, 79, of Monroe City, was crossing eastbound U.S. 36 4 miles east of Monroe City, at 4:23 p.m. and failed to yield to an eastbound 2017 Yamaha motorcycle driven by Donald E. Quigley, 18, of Monroe City. The motorcycle struck the car, the patrol said.

Quigley was taken to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.

The patrol was assisted by the Marion County Sheriff's Department, Ralls County Sheriff's Department, Monroe City Fire Department, Monroe City Police Department and Monroe City Ambulance.
