MADISON COUNTY, IL : 1 dead after SUV crashes through fence along I-255 on Tuesday, 20th August 2024

One person died Tuesday afternoon in a crash along Interstate 255 in Madison County.

According to Illinois State Police, the crash happened at about 4:10 p.m. Tuesday. A Ford Escape was traveling southbound on I-255 just north of Stutz Lane when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and crashed through a fence.
