Macoupin County, IL : Head-on semi crash kills man in Southern Illinois on Thursday, 2nd August 2018

A 35-year-old man died in a tractor-trailer crash in Macoupin County on Thursday morning.

Jarrod Adams of Carlinville was killed at about 5:31 a.m. during the crash on Shipman Road and Remington Lane, according to Macoupin County Coroner Brad Targetta.

Adams was driving a pickup truck northbound on Shipman Road when he crashed into a tractor trailer driving southbound, according to the press release. Targetta said Adams’ preliminary cause of death was massive head, chest and abdominal trauma.

The semi driver was not injured in the crash.
