Orlando, FL : 23-year-old Cody Garrick died after a crash on John Young Parkway and Americana Boulevard early Sunday morning, February 28, 2016

One person is dead after an Orlando crash early Sunday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened just before 2 a.m. on John Young Parkway and Americana Boulevard.

According to troopers, the driver a Nissan Pathfinder, 27-year-old Syndia Saint Cyr, ran a red light at the intersection. The Pathfinder hit the right side of a Ford Fusion.

The driver of the Fusion, 23-year-old Cody Garrick, died from his injuries.

Cyr was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. She was arrested for driving on a revoked license and vehiclar homicide.

According to the crash report, troopers had attempted to pull Cyr over for speeding earlier that night, but she fled from deputies.

The crash remains under investigation.
