Durango, CO : New Mexico man killed in Highway 172 motorcycle crash on Sunday, 4th September 2016

New Mexico man died Sunday evening in a single-motorcycle crash on Colorado Highway 172 about two miles south of Ignacio.Matthew Macedo, 38, of Blanco, New Mexico, was traveling southbound near mile point 6.7 on a 1997 Harley-Davidson at a high rate of speed.

“He hit a slight curve, ran off the right side of the road and was ejected,” said Capt. Adrian Driscoll of Colorado State Patrol.

Macedo was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident occurred around 5:12 p.m., temporarily closing the highway.
