Duluth, MN : One person was killed and another injured in a head-on crash on Monday, May 29, 2017

One person was killed and another injured in a head-on crash Monday on Rice Lake Road in Duluth.

Duluth police responded to a report of a crash at about 4:19 p.m. at Rice Lake Road and Technology Drive, police spokesman Ron Tinsley said. Officers determined that two vehicles had collided head-on.

The 68-year-old driver of one vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, a 19-year-old man, was brought to a Duluth hospital; police did not provide information on the extent of his injuries or identify either driver, pending notification of family.

The circumstances of the crash remained under investigation as of Monday night, Tinsley said.

The crash happened just north of Arrowhead Road, near UnitedHealthcare and North Star Academy.
