KANSAS CITY, MO : Speeding driver involved in rollover crash on 71 Highway on Saturday, 18th May 2024

The Kansas City Police Department is investigating whether impairment was a factor in a rollover crash on 71 Highway.

The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday on 71 Highway near 35th Street.

According to KCPD, the driver of a black Cadillac XTS was speeding on northbound 71 Highway when they hit a white Ford Ranger driving in the same direction. The Cadillac then drove off the left side of the road and up the grassy embankment. It overturned and rolled several times.

The Cadillac driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the car and sustained critical injuries. They remain in the hospital in serious condition.
