HAMEL, IL : Man dies in Hamel accident on Wednesday, 4th November, 2020

A Vandalia man died Wednedsay night in a motorcycle accident near Hamel.
According to the Illinois State Police, Skylar L. Henson, 37, was on a 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycle at 8:17 p.m. Wednesday on Illinois 140 at Legion Drive, west of Hamel, when he collided with a 2019 Ford F150 pcikup driven by James D. Reagan, Jr., 57, of Edwardsville.
State police said preliminary investigative details indicated Henson was eastbound on Illinois 140 and crossed the center line, traveling into the path of Reagan’s truck. Henson was pronounced deceased at the scene. Henson was ejected from his motorcycle; Reagan was taken by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
