Kansas City, MO : KCPD patrol car involved in crash near 44th and Charlotte on Monday afternoon, February 23, 2015

A Kansas City police vehicle was involved in a crash on Monday afternoon.

Police said the incident happened near 44th and Charlotte. Authorities said a driver was driving erratically when they started to chase. Police called off the chase soon after but patrolled the neighborhood. As an officer was driving through an intersection, the suspect ran a stop sign and hit the police cruiser.

Police are reportedly chasing a suspect on foot in the area.

An ambulance was called to the scene.
