ALBUQUERQUE, NM : Two from Roswell killed in Friday crash on Friday, March 24th 2017
Two people were killed in a crash Friday afternoon in southeastern New Mexico.
Alexander Horton, 31, and Leonard Padilla, 19, both of Roswell, died from their injuries at the scene of the crash that happened around 2:15 p.m. on U.S. 70 south of Elida, according to New Mexico State Police.
Police said the preliminary investigation shows that a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Stephanie Yamteh of Roswell was going north on U.S. 70, below the posted speed limit, when it was rear-ended by a semi truck driven by Jack Pulliam, 22, of Amarillo, Texas.
Horton and Padilla were passengers in Yamteh’s vehicle.
Yamteh was airlifted to University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas, with serious injuries. Pulliam was taken to Roosevelt General Hospital in Portales and treated for minor injuries, State Police said.
The crash investigation is ongoing.
