WEST VALLEY CITY, UT : Man killed while crossing road in hit-and-run crash in West Valley on Sunday, 17th November 2024

A man was killed after getting struck by a car.

A spokesperson with the West Valley City Police Department said the older man, possibly in his 70s, was hit near 3500 South 1940 West just after 8:15 p.m. Sunday.

While the police department is still early into their investigation, they confirmed the victim was crossing the road when a black passenger car fatally struck him and drove off.

The suspect was taken into custody.
