Sacramento, CA : Two killed in car-semi crash Monday in Reno County on Monday, 7th November 2016
Two people were killed Monday morning in a car-semi crash in Reno County, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 7:23 a.m. on US-50 highway, about 14 miles west of South Hutchinson.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze was northbound on Sego Road when it pulled out from a stop sign in front of a 2014 International semi-trailer that was westbound on US-50.
The semi struck the Chevrolet on the passenger side. After the impact, the Chevrolet entered the north ditch and overturned.
Two people in the Chevrolet were killed in the crash.
The car’s driver, Esther G. Jenkerson, 21, of Datil, N.M., and Xavier C. Bradford, 25, of Lancaster, Calif., both were pronounced dead at the scene. Both were wearing their seat belts, the patrol said.
The semi’s driver, Edwin G. Lehmann, 59, of Lehigh, was reported uninjured. The patrol said Lehmann was wearing his seat belt.
