FREMONT, CA : Fatal solo crash on Monday, July 24, 2017

Lanes of Highway 84 have reopened after an afternoon fatal solo crash closed off lanes of Highway 84 through Niles Canyon into Monday’s rush-hour commute, authorities said.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened at 12:35 p.m., Fremont police spokeswoman Geneva Bosques said.

Fremont firefighters responded, Bosques added, and California Highway Patrol officers also responded, a CHP dispatcher said.
