BENNETT, CO : Deputy involved in crash on I-70 pulls driver from burning car on Tuesday March 14th 2017

An Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputy involved in a crash with another vehicle on Interstate 70 managed to pull the other driver from a burning car, the Colorado State Patrol said.

The 25-year-old deputy, identified as Jeremy Selvidge, and the second driver, identified as Andrew Benoit, were involved in a crash around 6 a.m. Tuesday on I-70 near Bennett.

Troopers say the deputy's car was struck, causing the second car to catch fire. Deputy Selvidge suffered cuts but was able to pull Benoit out of the burning car and direct traffic around the accident. Benoit suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to a local hospital.
