GOLDEN, MA : Red Bay student killed in Monday traffic accident on Monday, February 6th 2017
A Red Bay teenager was killed in a traffic accident Monday evening, officials said.
Red Bay High Principal Kenny Sparks said Bradley Shane Wilemon, 17, was killed in the accident. He said Wilemon was a junior at the high school.
Sparks said he got word of the student’s death Monday during the girls area basketball tournament that is being played at Red Bay.
“We knew there was a wreck, but no one knew exactly how bad,” Sparks said. “Then during the game we started getting word that he had passed away.”
He said extra counselors were at the school this morning to meet with students.
“He was a good kid. Everyone liked him. It’s a pretty sad day around here,” Red Bay football coach and teacher Michael Jackson said.
