Laredo, TX : Two crashes occur on Texas 359 on Wednesday, December, 20th 2017

A woman died and several others, including a state trooper, were injured in two separate crashes reported Wednesday in Webb County on Texas 359, according to the Department of Public Safety.

Marissa Annette Lopez, a resident of Bruni, died after the vehicle she was driving hit a deer, said Sgt. Conrad J. Hein, DPS spokesman. A female passenger was taken to Laredo Medical Center.A trooper, while en route to the fatal crash. was involved in a three-vehicle crash near the City of Laredo Landfill on Texas 359. Hein said all three drivers were taken to local hospitals.

The fatal crash occurred at about 4:44 a.m., about 18 miles west of Hebbronville. A preliminary investigation revealed Lopez, 40, was driving a 2004 Honda sport utility vehicle when she hit a deer that was on the roadway, Hein said.
