McAllen, TX : 23-year-old woman died after single-vehicle crash on Thursday October 27th 2016

A 23-year-old woman died early Thursday morning after a single-vehicle crash, police said.

Officers responded to a report of a crash at about 2:23 a.m. Thursday on the westbound expressway near the Ware Road exit, McAllen police spokesman Lt. Joel Morales said.

Morales said the woman, who was transported to a local hospital where she died as a result of injuries suffered, struck a roadside barricade.

Morales said they were withholding the identity of the woman pending notification of next of kin.

The cause of the crash is unknown and under investigation, police said.
