LEON COUNTY, TX : Brazos County Two firefighters injured after hitting downed tree responding to accident on Thursday, 27th April 2023

Severe weather, two Leona firefighters were injured after driving to the scene of an accident on I-45.

Bob Hickman with the Emergency Management department in Leon County said the two — Jacob McCurry and Danny Milliken — were driving their personal vehicles to the fire station to get a truck when they both hit a downed pine tree near Ft. Boggy State Park.

They both suffered injures and are recovering.
