Deadly Crash After Driver Loses Control During Rainstorm

the Utah Highway Patrol reported that at about 3pm a green Toyota 4Runner was traveling east on SR-6 near mile post 264 in a heavy rainstorm. The driver lost control and spun into the westbound lane where a red Ford Escort was traveling.

The 4Runner struck the Escort in the driver side door and the driver of the Escort, Jack Le Roy Seiber, 22, from Blackfoot, Idaho was killed.

The driver of the 4Runner, was not injured, however, two of the occupants in that vehicle were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No drugs or alcohol were discovered. The roadway was shut down for a short period, but is now open.
