Police in Texas City are investigating a crash Friday night that killed one person and sent another to the hospital.
The fatal one-car crash happened about 8:15 p.m. along the 3200 block of State Highway 146 North.
According to early information, a Nissan sports utility vehicle was traveling southbound when it veered off the roadway and crashed.
The driver and a passenger were both ejected. One died at the scene and the other was flown to University of Texas Medical Branch hospital in critical condition, Texas City police said.
Police have not identified either of the people.
