SEA-TAC AIRPORT, WA : Suspicious bags briefly shut down security checkpoint at Sea-Tac Airport on Wednesday, November, 22nd 2017
Two suspicious bags briefly shut down a security checkpoint at Sea-Tac Airport Wednesday night, during the Thanksgiving holiday travel rush.
The TSA alerted police around 7:20 p.m. after the bags were discovered, unattended near security checkpoint 5, in the north end of the ticketing level - near the Alaska Airlines counter.
The checkpoint was shut down and secured "out of an abundance of caution" while Port of Seattle Police investigated.
An officer checked the bags and requested a K9 bomb squad team for inspection. The K9 detected something suspicious, which turned out to be some sort of prescription medication.
