Laurens County, SC : Driver dies in single-vehicle crash in Laurens County on Monday, 20th August 2018

A driver died early Monday morning after an SUV struck a tree in Laurens County.

The wreck happened at 3:40 a.m. along Fairview Road near its intersection with Swallow Drive, which is south of Fountain Inn.

A southbound 1997 Toyota 4Runner ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree, according to Cpl. Bill Rhyne with the state Highway Patrol.

The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, died at the scene. The name of the driver has not been released.
