Albuquerque, NM : Three people injured after crashed in Bernalillo County on Thursday December 24 2015
New Mexico State Police say several people were hurt after a rear-end collision in Bernalillo County triggered a chain reaction involving other cars.
Authorities say the accident happened around 4 p.m. Thursday in the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 near the I-25 interchange.
According to police, 28-year-old Gerald Hernandez was the driver of a vehicle that allegedly hit the back of another car.
The impact led to a three-vehicle crash.
Police say three people suffered serious injuries.
Hernandez was arrested and booked on three counts of great bodily harm by vehicle.
It was not known Friday if Hernandez had an attorney.
The crash remains under investigation.
