Brownsville, TX : Police believe girl’s death is accidental drowning on Tuesday, 22nd May 2018

The death of a 9-year-old girl found unresponsive in an inflatable pool during the weekend is believed to be an accidental drowning, Brownsville police report.

Brownsville police reported Wednesday that a preliminary autopsy report on the girl indicates the cause of death is an accidental drowning. However, an investigation continues.

Police were called Sunday to the 1200 block of Calle Milpa Verde, where the girl was found unresponsive in an inflatable slide/pool. A birthday party was going on at the time of the incident.

She was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.

Cameron County Justice of the Peace Precinct 2, Place 3 Mary Esther Sorola has ordered an autopsy to find out how the child died.
