Greenhill, AL : Florence man critical after motorcycle wreck on Lauderdale 59 in the Greenhill community on Wednesday evening, September 21, 2016

A Lauderdale County man is in critical condition at Huntsville Hospital after being injured in a motorcycle accident Wednesday evening, officials said.

Derek Green, 33, of Florence was injured in the 5 p.m. accident that happened on Lauderdale 59 in the Greenhill community.

Reports indicate Green was riding a 1995 Harley Davidson motorcycle that he lost control of and crashed.

Authorities Green was taken to Huntsville Hospital.

Steve Doyle, a spokesman for Huntsville Hospital, said today that Green was in critical condition in the surgical intensive care unit.

The accident remains under investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Quad-Cities State Troopers Post.
