Danbury, OH : Woman killed in two-vehicle accident in Ottawa County’s Danbury Township on Monday, July 11, 2016
The Sandusky post of the state Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred at 4:22 p.m. Monday in Ottawa County’s Danbury Township.
Jetta R. Fete, 64, of Wadsworth, was driving a 2006 Volkswagon Jetta TDI north on South Danbury Road, attempting to turn onto Ohio 269, when she failed to yield at the stop sign and was struck by a northbound 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 being driven by Diana L. Coffman-Odom, 34, of Huron, troopers said. Both vehicles then went off the left side of the roadway.
Fete sustained incapacitating injuries and was pronounced dead at Mercy St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Toledo.
Her two passengers also were injured.
Jody A. Toddy, 54, of Wadsworth, sustained minor injuries and was later released from Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton.
Megan R. Mahoney, 32, of Spencer, sustained incapacitating injuries and was taken to St. Vincent’s, where she was listed in critical condition.
Coffman-Odom, sustained incapacitating injuries and was transported to Firelands Regional Medical Center.
The Volkswagen was towed by Ken’s Towing, while the Silverado was towed by Don’s Towing.
Alcohol and/or drug use is unknown at this time, troopers said. The crash remains under investigation.
Troopers were assisted by Danbury Township Police and Fire Department, North Central EMS and Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.
