QUARTSZITE, AZ : 2 injured in fiery tanker truck crash; I-10 reopens near Quartzsite on Tuesday, 27th February 2024

Eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 are back open after a fiery truck crash left two people hurt near Quartzsite early Tuesday.According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, troopers responded around 4:20 a.m. for a crash involving two commercial vehicles, including a fuel truck tanker that caught fire after the collision. Authorities say the tractor-trailer braked abruptly for heavy traffic, causing it to lose control and jackknife along the freeway, rear-ending another truck.

Firefighters from Riverside County, California, Quartzsite, and Ehrenberg worked for hours to put the fire out and mop up hotspots after the fiery wreck caused a small brush fire in the area. Authorities later said that Both drivers involved in the crash sustained minor injuries but that no one else was hurt.
