Tarrant County, TX : 17-year-old was dead Monday night after the Ford Mustang she was riding in crashed head-on into a van on September 1st 2014

A 17-year-old from Fort Worth was killed Monday night after the Ford Mustang she was riding in crashed head-on into a van in unincorporated far west Tarrant County, splitting the car in two. Bailey Goss was pronounced dead at 8:15 p.m. at the scene of the wreck in the 12000 block of White Settlement Road near the Fort Worth city limits. Goss had been riding with a friend in an eastbound 1967 Ford Mustang, driven by the friend’s father, when it collided with a blue van on the two-lane county road, according to Terry Grisham, a spokesman for the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department. Grisham said authorities are still investigating which vehicle crossed into oncoming lanes. The impact split the Mustang in two — separating the front part of the car from the passenger compartment — and ejecting some of the passengers. The Mustang’s driver, 38-year-old Shane Knapp, was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital by helicopter ambulance. His daughter, 16-year-old Shana Knapp, was taken by ground ambulance to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth. The van’s driver, Karla Gabriela Blanco, 40, and passenger, Oscar A. Blanco, 41, were taken by ground ambulance to Harris with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. Grisham said it’s not known whether alcohol was a factor in the wreck. He said investigators obtained a warrant for Shane Knapp’s blood after emergency crews noted the smell of alcohol while treating the driver. Source : Teen killed in head-on Tarrant County crash
