Piedmont,SC : Man killed in head-on Greenville Co. crash on may, friday 12th 2017

The Greenville County Coroner's Office is investigating a deadly crash on Friday afternoon.

The coroner said one person was pronounced dead on scene after a collision on West Georgia Road near Sandlapper Trail.

The crash occurred just before 4 p.m., according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. It was less than a mile from Woodmont High School.

According to troopers, an SUV and a truck collided head-on on West Georgia Road. The driver of the SUV was killed in the crash. The truck driver was uninjured, troopers said.

The coroner identified the victim as 56-year-old Rudolph Donald Stone of Simpsonville.
