Newark, DE : Newark man, 84, dies after area crash Thursday on July 3, 2014
An 84-year-old Newark man died Thursday following a two-car crash in Glasgow, Del., police said.
Howard M. Bock was leaving the parking lot of Peoples Plaza Shopping Center at approximately 10:30 a.m. Thursday when he pulled out into the path of a car going south on Glasgow Avenue, according to Master Cpl. Gary Fournier, a spokesman for the Delaware State Police.
The oncoming 2006 Ford Fusion collided with Bock’s 1992 Nissan NX, causing both cars to spin around and come to a stop in the roadway.
A helicopter flew Bock to Christiana Hospital, where he later died.
The driver of the Ford, Rachel K. Hamill, 30, of Newark, was treated and released from Christiana Hospital.
Police are continuing to investigate the crash, Fournier said.
