Willmar, MN : Spicer couple injured in crash on Highway 23 in Cold Spring on Monday night, September 26, 2016

A Monday night crash on Highway 23 in Cold Spring left a Spicer couple with non-life threatening injuries, the State Patrol says.

Nathan and Claire Verch, both 35, were transported to the St. Cloud Hospital following the 9:17 p.m. crash.

Nathan Verch had been driving a 2016 Ram truck west on Highway 23 when his vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic, sideswiping a semi-truck and trailer.

The driver of the 1998 Peterbilt semi, 46-year-old Rodney R. Winter of Murdock, was not injured.

State Patrol Trooper Bryan Van Den Einde said no alcohol was detected in any of individuals involved in this accident. An earlier State Patrol report was incorrect.

All were wearing seatbelts; the Ram truck was totaled from the damage.

The Cold Spring Police Department and Stearns County Sheriff's Office assisted the State Patrol on the scene.
