Renville County, MN : 12-year-old dies in ATV crash in Renville County on Saturday, 27th February 2021

A 12-year-old boy is dead from a rollover ATV crash Saturday morning in Renville County.

According to the Renville County Sheriff's Office, around 9:35 a.m., a caller reported that an ATV had crashed on the 73000 block of 510th Street in Martinsburg Township and a person was trapped underneath.

Emergency responders found 12-year-old Carsten Homan of Hector and another boy, who was riding as a passenger.

Carsten was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was unharmed.

The sheriff's office said initial investigation indicates the ATV was traveling southbound in the ditch on 510th Street when it hit a field approach and rolled over.
