CLARA CITY, MN : Belivew woman hurt in crash on Highway 23 north of Clara City on Thursday, 13th December 2018

A Belview woman was transported to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar after her vehicle was rear-ended as she attempted to make a left turn on Trunk Highway 23 north of Clara City at 12:01 p.m. on Thursday.

Carrol Anne Breitkreutz suffered what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries in the collision, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

She was driving a 2018 Toyota RAV4 southbound on Highway 23 and slowed to a stop, waiting for oncoming traffic to clear before turning south on Chippewa County Road 1 in Lone Tree Township.

A 2005 GMC Envoy driven by Cole Michael Richter, 18, of Granite Falls, was also southbound on Highway 23 and did not see the Toyota stopped, resulting in a rear-end crash. Richter was not injured.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
