Orlando, FL : Crash into pole causes power outage in Orange County on Friday morning, December 26, 2014
More than 800 residents were left without electricity the morning after Christmas when a car crashed into a power pole in Orange County, according to officials.
The crash occurred near the intersection of Ardenwood Ct and North Powers Drive in Pine Hills at 2:47 a.m. and at least one person was injured, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The car slammed into the pole and landed on its side, causing wires to come down and at least 800 residents were without power, according to Tim Trudell, spokesman for the Orlando Utilities Commission.
Trudell said that within an hour nearly all of the residents had their power restored.
