GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, OH : Motorcyclist killed in accident ID'd on sunday afternoon June 15th 2014

A 59-year-old Batavia man is dead after being involved in a crash in Goshen Township Sunday afternoon.

John Bennett crashed his Harley Davidson motorcycle into a car at the intersection of State Route 28 and Linton Road around 1:39 p.m., according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Bennett went left of center while attempting to pass the car that he crashed into, troopers said.

Iris Boone, 59, of Milford was turning left from S.R. 28 onto Linton Road at the time when Bennett crashed into her Chevrolet Impala, according to the OSHP. The impact ejected Bennett from his motorcycle.

Bennett was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clermont County Coroner. Troopers say he was not wearing a helmet.

Boone was transported to Bethesda North Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. She was wearing her seat belt, troopers said.

Ohio Route 28 was shut down in both directions for more than four hours while officials investigated.

The OSHP says the crash remains under investigation.
