Mount Airy (Town),GA : Drivers both cited in Hwy. 111 crash on May,Tuesday 29th 2018

Both drivers were cited in a Tuesday morning wreck that sent one of the men to the hospital with apparently minor injuries.

Antonio Saucedo, 37, of Moultrie, was driving west on Highway 111 in a Ford F-150 at about 6:49 a.m. with a semi truck hauling a log trailer behind him, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

The driver of the log truck, Sonny Moore, 39, of Uvala, Ga., was driving too close to the pickup truck, GSP reports said. When Saucedo stopped to turn left onto Kendalwood Church Road the semi struck the pickup truck, pushing it onto the right shoulder.

Saucedo’s truck struck a culvert at the intersection, the reports said.

A witness told police that she was driving east on Highway 111, about to make a right turn onto Kendalwood Church Road when she saw Saucedo trying to turn and realized that the other driver did not have enough time to stop to avoid the collision.

Saucedo was taken to Colquitt Regional Medical Center, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

He was cited with driving while unlicensed.

Moore was issued a citation on a charge of following too closely.
