Baltimore, MD : Man injuried in a crash on the Baltimore Washington Parkway on Wednesday, July 8, 2015

A man sustained life-threatening injuries Wednesday morning in a crash on the Baltimore Washington Parkway.

Anne Arundel County fire department Capt. Russ Davies said a pickup truck was traveling north on the Parkway just before 6 a.m. when it overturned in the area of Route 175, west of Fort George G. Meade. No other vehicles were involved.

The driver of the truck, a man who is approximately 45 years old, was transported by ambulance to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with critical, life-threatening injuries, Davies said. No other injuries were reported.

Northbound lanes of the Parkway were shut down for the accident investigation, causing heavy delays during the morning rush hour.

U.S. Park Police announced just before 9:15 a.m. that all northbound lanes had reopened.

No other information on the crash was immediately available Wednesday morning.
