ANDERSON, SC : Chase through Anderson leads to crash, arrest on Thursday, 27th October 2016

Anderson City police said a chase ended in a crash and arrest on Thursday afternoon.

The chase began on Fant Street, according to police.

Reports said an officer spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen from another agency and had faulty equipment.

When the officer attempted to make a traffic stop, police said the vehicle sped up, ran several stop signs and drove recklessly as a chase ensued.

Police said the driver of the vehicle attempted to run a stop sign and crashed into another vehicle crossing the intersection on George Albert Lake Road.

EMS was called to the scene of the incident but information on injuries sustained in the incident is not available at this time.

Police said the driver would be charged, and that Highway Patrol Troopers would be handling the crash aspect of the incident.
