Area Man Killed in Elgin Crash in Huntley Illinois

A 24-year-old man is dead following a crash on Route 20 in Elgin Sunday, according to area media reports. The crash occurred when Alberto Dominguez, the driver of a westbound Honda Civic, traveled into the eastbound lane and collided with a Mercury Villager just east of Shales Parkway around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The impact from the crash was so powerful that the Civic "split in two," according to the Daily Herald. Police said Dominguez, who was killed in the crash, lived in Elgin but the medical examiner's office told the Chicago Tribune that Dominguez had a Lake in the Hills address.
The driver of the eastbound Villager was taken to St. Alexius Treatment Center in Hoffman Estates for treatment of serious injuries, according to the Daily Herald.
