Verona, NY : 2-car crash sends 3 to hospital on Route 31 in Verona on Friday, 27th July 2018

Three people were injured after a two-car crash on Route 31 in Verona on Friday.

Around 4:50 p.m., police say Rene Sejthen, 42 of Blossvale, along with his passenger, Kristine Lier, 21 of Blossvale, was driving a 2011 RAM pickup northbound on Route 31 when Alexandria Schrader, 17, of Oneida, driving a 2007 Honda Civic westbound on Sarenski Road, failed to yield the right of way at the intersection, striking Schrader’s vehicle.

Sejthen, Schrader and Lier were all transported to Oneida Healthcare by Vineall Ambulance for their injuries.

Schrader was issued a traffic summons returnable to Verona Town Court and is scheduled to appear at a later date. The Oneida County Sheriff’s office was assisted on scene by Vineall Ambulance and the Verona Fire Department.
