MEDINA COUNTY, OH : Cleveland man dies after crashing into Ohio Department of Transportation plow truck on Tuesday, 16th February 2021

A 71-year-old Cleveland man died after crashing into an Ohio Department of Transportation plow truck Tuesday morning, the State Highway Patrol said.

Joseph Wheeler died in the crash that happened about 10:15 a.m. on Interstate 71 near Avon Lake Road in Harrisville Township, according to a news release from highway patrol.

The ODOT plow truck was northbound in the left lane of Interstate 71 when a 2019 Toyota Tacoma, driven by Wheeler, struck the back of the truck, the release says.

Troopers arrived at the crash site where Wheeler was pronounced dead, the release says. The ODOT plow truck driver was not hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.
