Louisville, KY : Several people injured when car crashes into home at Devonshire Drive and West Pages Lane on Thursday morning, March 3, 2016
Seven people were taken to local hospitals after a car slammed into a house.
The accident was reported Thursday morning on Devonshire Drive near West Pages Lane in the PRP area.
Five children were taken to Kosair Children’s Hospital to be treated for injuries.
Two adults were also taken to hospitals.
No one inside the house was hurt, and the homeowner said this isn't the first time this has happened.
"Even the fireman that came talked to my daughter and said, ‘Same house. At least this one didn't pass away,'" Sharon Comstock said.
The car slammed into the side of the garage.
"The blue car apparently stopped suddenly and she just rear-ended them, wasn't able to turn or anything, and once she rear-ended them, she went into our house," daughter Kelley Comstock said.
The driver struck the same spot where a man died after crashing his car in 2011.
The house is at the intersection of Devonshire Drive and West Pages Lane, and it’s not the only house that's been hit.
A house across Devonshire Drive and one across West Pages have each been struck by cars.
"From Dixie down to Terry, there's not a stop sign on West Pages, and the speed limit is 35. No one does 35,” Sharon Comstock said.
The Comstocks want something to be done, but said, they haven't been able to get very far.
"I'd like to see speed bumps, a four-way stop, or just something to slow them down," Sharon Comstock said.
"Caution lights, stop lights, guard rails for our house, but the only thing we can get done is the little, 'Cross through traffic does not stop (sign)," Kelley Comstock said.
They said they've been given several reasons why nothing else can be done.
"One reasoning was there's not the funding there. Another was it would stop the fire department from going up and down West Pages. They wanted to put (in) a roundabout, and that wouldn't work," Sharon Comstock said.
All the family wants is not to have to worry about another crash.
Everyone who was hurt in the crash is expected to be OK.
The homeowner has talked with her insurance agent and is in the process of getting her house fixed once again.
