Springfield, IL : Car crashes into Rosati’s Pizza on Friday, December, 8th 2017
No one was injured Friday when a man crashed a car into the front of Rosati’s Pizza at 2934 S. Sixth St.
The car knocked out the front plate glass windows and ended up inside the restaurant where it hit free-standing, non-structural, wall. The incident occurred about 4:15 p.m., the Springfield Fire Department said.
The name of the driver was not immediately available from Springfield Police.
Rescuers described the incident as an accident.
Rosati’s Pizza closed the South Sixth Street location in September. It opened the Springfield restaurant in July 2016.
Back in October, a corporate official from the restaurant said they hoped to have the Springfield location re-opened by the end of the year.
On Friday evening, workmen were at the site enclosing the front of the business.
