Sevier County, TN :1 dead, 2 injured in Sevier County crash on Monday, July 13th 2015
An Alabama man was killed and two others injured in a two car crash on Interstate 40 Monday morning that caused the highway to close for several hours.The accident was reported at around 10:00 a.m near mile marker 409 on Interstate 40. According to Sevierville police, a 2002 Cadillac Seville STS driven by Barry E. Myers, 61, of Bulls Gap, was going east when it swerved across the grassy median and hit a 2015 Honda CRV driven by Charlene B. Campbell, 55, of Mobile, Alabama.Police say Campbell’s passenger, Michael A. Campbell, 55, also of Mobile, Alabama, was killed in the crash. Charlene Campbell was trapped for one hour until first responders were able to cut the roof of the SUV. She was later transported by LifeStar helicopter to University of Tennessee Medical Center. Myers was also transported to University of Tennessee Medical Center.The conditions of Charlene Campbell and Barry Myers have not been released.Accident reconstruction officers say it appears Myers’ Cadillac hit a guardrail on I-40 eastbound just before crossing the median.
