Lowville , NY : 23 - Years old person killed in crash after his snowmobile struck a slight hill in the Town of West Turin on Wednesday , March 4th 2015

State Police are investigating a fatal snowmobile accident on the snowy Tug Hill Plateau.

Troopers say 23-year-old Christopher Hawkes of Camden, New York, died Wednesday evening after his snowmobile struck a slight hill in the Town of West Turin in Lewis County. That sent Hawkes hurtling over the handle bars in front of the machine, and he was then struck in the head by the snowmobile. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
